Timber Framing Workshop: Building without nails
PORT ANGELES, WA
4-day timber framing class taught by Jenna Pollard of Against the Grain, Benito Steen and Arjuna “Oso” Steen of the Canelo Project. Hosted at Olympic Outpost in Port Angeles, Washington.
You will learn the art of laying out a timber frame structure, cutting mortise and tenons both by hand and power tools, plus a peek in to lumber selection and milling. You will gain a good understanding of timber framing tools and how to maintain them. No timber framing experience required.
Logistics:
Workshop and timberframe build on-site at Olympic Outpost, located by Lincoln Park in Port Angeles, Washington.
- Full day program from 9am-5pm each day.
- Lunch included and served on site.
- Camping available on site. Lots of hotels and vacation rentals in town for non-campers.
- Bringing basic timber framing hand tools is encouraged (a recommended list will be provided). Some extra tools will be available for use.
Workshop Fee: $850 per person
Included in workshop fee:
- Coffee/tea, lunch and snacks all days
- Pizza party one evening
- Camping onsite
